How The Giants Will Beat Philly

I am going to go this whole article without mentioning Plaxico Burress.  Damn it! Starting now we are just talking about what matters most, Giants football.  The Giants are, despite all of the drama, the consensus best team in the NFL right now. The GMen already beat Philly in front of their home fans once this season, and quarterback Donovan McNabb and Coach Andy Reid are fighting to keep their jobs.  If the Giants win this game they clinch the NFC East crown.  Eat that all you Cowboy-lovers in the media! (even if the Giants somehow lose (highly unlikely) they can still clinch with a Dallas loss @ Pittsburgh)  I expect the Giants to win, and win big, in the Meadowlands on Sunday and here is how they are going to do it:

  • Stop Westbrook: That is, if he even plays.  The Eagles superstar tailback has a bad knee and has not practiced this week.  He may be a scratch on Sunday, and without the Giant killer, Philly has no shot.  Even if Westbrook can go, the Giants limited Westbrook to 26 yards on 13 carries (2.0 a clip) in their last meeting, and I expect them to do the same on Sunday.  The Giants run defense has been otherworldly this year.
  • Pressure McNabb: The Giants have the best pass rush in the NFC.  When McNabb is pressured, he skips balls yards in front of his receiver and turns the ball over.  With the crowd noise and swirling winds of Giants stadium this equals a BIG advantage for Big Blue.
  • Eli Manning: Coming off his best game of the season, expect Eli Manning to continue his phenomonal play on Sunday.  Spread the ball around to Toomer, Smith, Hixon, Boss, Ward out of the backfield, maybe we'll even see Moss! I expect Eli to be efficient and effective.
  • Run the Football: Always a key for Big Blue, but they do it so well I am tired of typing it.  Wear them down with Earth, once their tired bring in Wind, then finish them off with Fire.  Works everytime.
  • Final Score: Giants - 27 Eagles - 13

ROC-They will need to contain Jackson on Kick Off's(Their only weakness this year) and on offense with the misdirection plays Philly will use him on.

From your lips to Gods ears..like Mike D. said, kick coverage is crucial, Carney has a weak leg on kick offs & Jackson is dangerous. Giving Philly good field position on every kick will come back to bite you.

They als o need to be ready for Jackson in the Wildcat or on reverses, especially if Westbook doesnt play.He will then be the only game breaker the have and they only guy who can hurt the GMen

Emotional letdown. Lack of intensity. That is the concern.

And a continuing tendency to not put people away - to let them stay in the game.

Eagles cannot play with the Gants this year.
